Harvest time, best time.
November, when the days get shorter and the evenings cooler - that's harvest time for our organic olives. The precious fruits grow with Ana and Thomas near Monte Novo do Paço - in the heart of the breathtaking Alentejo. The trees, some of which are more than 700 years old, are witnesses to a bygone age, when naturalness was still the most natural thing in the world. The gnarled monsters only bear fruit every 2-3 years. But when they do, they are all the more special because they contain all the power of the rustic trees. These grow on wide hilly meadows, have plenty of space and are still cultivated traditionally - without pesticides and without chemicals.
This is how we harvest our organic olives.
Sometimes herds of sheep and goats keep them company. Harvesting is traditionally done by hand. This protects the plants and the soil. We are allowed to help Ana and Thomas with the harvest. Then we spend the whole day outside in the olive grove. In the mist of dawn, the path leads through fairytale cork oak forests. After four hours of work, we look forward to our lunch break in the shade of the trees. Then we continue until the last olives are collected and loaded. It is exhausting manual work.
Our organic olives grow in the heart of the Alentejo.
Dusk bathes everything in gold and rewards us with a fantastic view. At dinner together by the fire, with guitar music and some wine, we talk about God and the world. We are completely exhausted, but happy. Life can be so simple and so beautiful.
You will find all the power of the 700-year-old olive trees in our incomparable Face and Body Butter. Enjoy the Pure Power of Portugal.
